3/15 Pismo Beach, CA Man Shoots Customers at Dennys in Random Act of Violence
Lawrence Edward Woods, a 60-year-old heavyset handyman walked into a Denny’s restaurant on a shooting rampage that left him and two others dead. His neighbors state that he suffered from mental problems and two neighbors said two couples moved out because of Woods’ paranoia. Two men died in Woods’ noon shooting spree: Frank Valesquez, 64, and Harold Hatley, 73, both of Grover Beach. Coroner’s investigators said Woods and Hatley died of cranial cerebral trauma caused by a gunshot wound to the head. Valesquez bled to death after suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg that struck his femoral artery.
