5/17 Frederick, WVA Woman Escorted to Car by Co-Worker Witnesses Shooting

While this case did not occur at work, the proximity must be noted. A man, not yet identified, had gone to his wife's workplace looking for her but her co-workers told him that she was not available. He then left. Fearing for her safety, the woman asked a co-worker to walk her to her car parked nearby. That is when she encountered her husband at the car. As the co-worker stood across the street as the husband and wife talked. It soon became an argument with another witness stating that she shouted, “I don’t want to be with you anymore”. The man grabbed her by the neck as he threatened her with a .38 revolver. An officer walking near by heard the commotion and came over, ordering him to drop the weapon. The assailant shot his wife and fired the gun at the officer. When the officer returned fire, the husband shot and killed himself.
